Such a significant increase in fans will intimidate even the top-level athletes this was demonstrated when the star quarterback Patrick Mahomes stated, “I did feel pressured to throw Kelce a touchdown pass that game,” and even stated, “he thought that Kelce almost wanted it as bad as the Taylor Swift fans wanted it” in the ESPN report. With this merchandise flying off shelves, new fans who knew nothing about the game or the event were flooding the stands. NFL and football fans have a right to be disappointed in the end, but they can't deny the positive impact on sales for streaming views, sales of tickets, sales of merchandise, and bringing in 24.3 million viewers to watch the game. 

Now, on to Taylor Swift's fan’s side, everyone knows of the somewhat cult following she has had for years. No one doubted this relationship was going to bring millions of her fans to flock to Kelce’s games and his merchandise. Many Swift fans, pop culture journalists, and NFL fans worry if this guy is another break-up song/album in the making or if it's a marketing ploy to engage male target audiences to an already female-dominated fan base. People know of Taylor Swift’s male track record and worry that with the rising fame and attention that this relationship is getting it will put stress on the relationship and lead it to its decline. With that, Taylor Swift has seen many benefits to this popularity as well. There has become a whole new target audience for Taylor Swift’s marketing team to begin marketing towards: the NFL watchers, Chiefs fans, and the overall male demographic. This is a very significant opportunity for this artist because not only is her fan base very female-driven, but it also has kind of plateaued before this relationship. She had many of the same day-one listeners yet was producing the same music and hadn't faced much attention in the general media. This event will not only spark back some listening habits in her general audience but also bring many more reluctant male listeners to join her army of fans.

This relationship sparks a lot of controversy, drama, and attention. However, it has proved to be a very lucrative decision for both parties. Taylor Swift has found a new male demographic and is experiencing the fame and fun that come with a Super Bowl-winning team, and Travis Kelce is getting international attention for more than just football. While this could wind up being another “I Knew You Were Trouble” moment, these two have already proved to be a very powerful pair. With the 2024-2025 football preseason and season coming up in a few months and the new album coming from Swift in April, it will be interesting to see how their relationship and fame grow in the media and whether an engagement could follow in the near future.
